Thank you for upgrading your copy of the Grinder to version 3.1. This file has instructions for upgrading and information on new features since the last version, 3.04.
Upgrading Instructions
If you have not registered your copy of the HTML Grinder, version 3.1 will continue from the Demo time you have already used. Installing 3.1 will not reset your demo period for the older wheels. You WILL, however, be able to use the new wheels released in 3.1 for the full Demo period. If you would like some more time to evaluate the older wheels, just write to grinder@matterform.com and request a temporary serial number.
If you have registered individual wheels, but not the complete bundle, you should not throw away all the parts of your old copy of the Grinder. Instead, drag the old HTML Grinder application to the trash, and replace with the new HTML Grinder application. Leave the Grinder Tools folder alone, but drag the new wheel╤called Scroller╤from the 3.1 Grinder Tools folder into your old Grinder Tools folder. This will preserve your wheel serial numbers.
If you have registered the bundle, do the following. Make sure you have your original serial number that was emailed to you. Double-click and open the new version 3.1 HTML Grinder application. Immediately choose "Register All Tools" from the Tools menu and type or paste your original serial number. This should register the new 3.1 bundle.
If you have any important settings in any of your old wheels, do not throw the wheels away or you will lose the settings. None of the wheels have been changed between 3.04 and 3.1, so you can copy these old wheels into the new Grinder Tools folder, if you like.
Now you can throw away your old copy of the Grinder if you want.
The instructions for the new wheel, Scroller, can be found on pages 14 and 15 of the updated manual.
If you have any problems upgrading your software, write to us at grinder@matterform.com and we'll make it right.
What's new in version 3.1
Ñ A new wheel has been released, called Scroller. Scroller automatically installs scrolling links that can be clicked on to jump to sections further down the page. Support for hierarchical lists of links. Great for creating Table of Contents links at the top of long pages.
Ñ The HTML Grinder application should open more quickly the first time you double-click it or drag files onto it.
Ñ A problem in the Theseus wheel where list selections were deselected upon scrolling has been fixed.
